About Erin Hannigan, Principal Oboe
Erin attended the Oberlin Conservatory where she studied with James Caldwell. She received her Master’s degree and the prestigious Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where she was a student of Richard Killmer. Before coming to Dallas, Erin was a member of the Rochester Philharmonic from 1994-2001. During the summer, she performs with the Music in the Mountains Festival in Durango, CO. She also performs outside of Dallas as guest principal oboist with a number of other prestigious symphonies. Erin has been a member of the Southern Methodist University faculty since 2002 where she is Adjunct Associate Professor of Oboe. In June 2008, Erin’s first solo CD “From Hafiz to Firewing (and Beyond)” was released on the Crystal Records label (CD 820).
